Dates and Topics: Below
Classroom Limit: 5
Fee: $199.00 for single day classes

During Pre-Licensing and CE classes inspectors often tell us that the Mechanical Systems are the most difficult to understand. Do you find yourself struggling to understand HVAC and electrical systems? If you answered "yes" we can help with that.
Kenny Hart... the Plumbing and HVAC Guy, is a second-generation plumber, gas-fitter and HVAC technician. He received his Master's License in the trades in 1982. Now that he is retired from field work, he dedicates his time to Home Inspector Training. As well as traditional classroom instruction, he offers small up-close classroom sessions (limited to 5 attendees) at the KC Hart and Company facility in Virginia Beach.
During these training sessions, you not only get to learn from a great selection of images, video clips, animated slideshows and books, Kenny has a large number of training exhibits on-hand. You can get up close to the equipment and systems you see in the field. You won't just observe a gas furnace from a seat in a classroom, you will sit next to it, touch it and listen as an experienced tradesman/instructor identifies the components and explains (sometimes demonstrates) how each contributes to the operation of the equipment and the overall system.
We are routinely adding more exhibits, but currently have the following mechanical exhibits on-hand:
-
Gas-fired Mid-Efficiency Furnace
-
Gas-fired Condensing Furnace
-
Oil Burner
-
Gas-fired Storage Tank Water Heater
-
Gas-fired Tankless Water Heater
-
Electric Tankless Water Heater
-
Hybrid Heat Pump Storage Tank Water Heater
-
Heat Pump
-
Air Conditioning Condensing Unit and "A" Coil
-
Air Handler
-
Shallow Well Water Pump
-
Sewage Lift Pump
-
Air Conditioning Mini-Split System
-
Electric Service Panel and Sub-Panel
-
and More
To create an exceptional learning environment, these sessions are limited to 5 students. Our registration system cuts off registration automatically so it's first come, first serve. We begin the sessions at 9 am and end at 5 pm. Lunch is provided and it is served on-site. Refreshments are also provided through-out the day.
Though portions of the sessions can earn you continuing education units, these sessions are not created for inspectors needing CEU credit. They were created specifically for inspectors that want to really understand how residential mechanical systems work, how they should be inspected and are willing to invest in the training.
